Rural parts of Geneseo, Illinois have long history in the making of our community.
Before we dig too deep in the meat of the rural ongoings, I thought we should try to define a few things. The main roads of Rural Geneseo include Highway 82 South toward Cambridge, 82 north toward Joslin, Grange Road both North and East. highway 6 Both East toward Akinson, and West toward Colona. There is more rural Geneseo out the Cambridge blacktop, and east of Joslin off 82. Most of the roads described above directly intersect with Geneseo.
There is another area that heads West down Wolf Road and lots of development areas up and down Wolf road. There are tons of farms scattered on all the roads described above. There are many highway roads that interconnect farms, Wolf Rd, and highway 6 like 1200.
There are also many businesses, some clubs, churches, large homes, new development, and places to explore and venture to in Rural Geneseo.
There are a number of churches in Rural Geneseo, they include, but are not limited to the Baptist Church on Wolf Road,.
There are businesses on wolf road that include the Country Store (currently a BP), Wolf Ridge Gardens, and an Asphalt Blacktop company. There are others as well.
Lots of farms, including those that raise horses, sheep, cows, pigs and even Llamas.
Rural nursing homes, golf clubs, and humane society, Cole Cabin, the Geneseo Campgrounds, and the Isaac Walton League to name a few.
